Electronic Records and Signatures Consent

Last updated: May 21, 2026

This Consent describes the terms under which records and signatures may be exchanged electronically through the TradeSchool Manager Software, in accordance with the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-SIGN), 15 U.S.C. § 7001 et seq., and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA) as adopted by U.S. states. It applies to (a) communications between you and CJs Web Service regarding your subscription, and (b) tuition contracts, applications, and other documents that a school sends through the Software to its students and applicants.

Consent to electronic transactions

By creating an account, paying for a subscription, or signing a document presented by the Software, you affirmatively consent that:

  • You are willing and able to receive and review electronic records, and to sign documents electronically.
  • An electronic signature you affix — whether by typing your name, drawing a signature, or clicking an "I agree" button on a signature panel — has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature on paper.
  • An electronic copy of a signed record is the equivalent of the original paper record for all legal purposes.

What we capture with each signature

For every electronic signature collected by the Software (most notably tuition contracts in the Invoicing & Contracts add-on), the Software records:

  • The typed or drawn signature.
  • The IP address of the signer.
  • The signer's browser user-agent string.
  • A UTC timestamp.
  • The fully rendered, signed PDF, archived alongside the contract record.

This evidence is intended to support enforceability, but enforceability ultimately depends on the contract itself, the underlying transaction, and applicable law.

Hardware and software requirements

To access, sign, and retain electronic records you need: a modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge updated within the last 12 months) with JavaScript and cookies enabled; a working email address; an internet connection; and a PDF reader to view archived contracts.

Right to receive paper copies

You may request a paper copy of any electronic record by contacting the school that sent it (for tuition contracts and application records) or [email protected] (for records we control, such as billing receipts).

Withdrawing consent

You may withdraw consent to transact electronically at any time by emailing the school (for school-issued documents) or [email protected] (for documents we issue). Withdrawing consent does not invalidate prior electronic signatures or transactions. It may prevent you from continuing to use features that depend on electronic delivery.

Updates to your contact information

You are responsible for keeping your email address current with the school and with us. Notices we send to the last email address on file are deemed received.

Schools using the Software

If you operate a school and use the Software to obtain signatures from students, applicants, or parents, you are responsible for (a) presenting this Consent (or your own equivalent) to your signers before they sign, (b) ensuring the underlying contract is lawful, clear, and enforceable in your jurisdiction, and (c) retaining the signed PDF for the period required by your state's record-retention rules.
